Dr. Roger Wise is a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed social worker, and certified marital and family therapist. He is also an AAMFT approved supervisor and has served as a senior supervisor in an APPIC Approved internship and post-doctoral training residency program for psychologists and training residencies for family therapists and substance abuse counselors. He has served on Missouri Psychological Association Committees, and has published in the area of ethics, neuropsychology, and addictions. Dr. Wise is an ordained Christian Church minister and has served as a pastor of a church. He is a certified substance abuse counselor. He is licensed in Missouri.
Dr. Wise is a founding member of the board of directors and has been a visionary and leader in the development of rural psychology practice, rural comprehensive mental health centers, and community psychology. He continues to work part-time at the CCPS comprehensive community mental health center component of the CMHC, Inc. healthcare system. He has 36 years of service at CMHC, Inc. His career has spanned over thirty years of community mental health leadership, service, the saving of lives and human potential, and providing an example of the prototype local doctor of psychology who is a steadfast and always accessible community asset. He has been a teacher and mentor of literally dozens of doctors who later became community assets.
He has published in the national journal literature, has served on committees and leadership in psychological associations, and has been a faculty member in clinical psychology internship and post doctoral residency programs, marital and family therapy programs, counseling programs, and substance abuse counselor programs. He has served as adjunct faculty at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology Doctoral Program and at Avilla College.
Dr. Wise served on the CMHC, Inc. Board of Directors for 31 years (from 1978-2009).
