CMHC, Inc. 2002-2003 Training Colander:

Since the early 1980s, CMHC, Inc. has trained psychology interns and postdoctoral residents and is now a participating member of the APPIC training programs.  Since the 1980s we have provided continuing education for mental health professionals in the form of workshops and seminars.  CMHC, Inc. is a training and clinical services program which offers inpatient, day treatment, and outpatient training opportunities for psychologists and masters level psychotherapists and mental health professionals.  All training program topics, materials, instructors, and times and dates of training are reviewed and approved by the Curriculum Committee made up of psychologists and based upon input from psychologists.  Our training partner, Heartland Hospital is a 165 bed child and adolescent inpatient program with acute hospital, residential, and group home services.  CMHC, Inc. provides clinical leadership and programming for 6 of the 8 hospital programs.

Since the late 1980s we have had a Training Director, a psychologist, who is directly responsible for the quality and supervision of the training programs.   CMHC, Inc. has established credentialing procedures for clinical staff and extra agency professionals who wish to become Training Faculty and have credentialed training faculty who are participants in curriculum planning, development, supervision and delivery, and training programs evaluation.  These programs are ongoing components of the agencies recruitment, advertising, and budget programs.

We operate training programs for psychologists, but licensed mental health professionals and interns and residents in bona fide psychology training programs are welcome to apply for training.  Only psychologists will be admitted to training programs, which specifically apply to psychological testing, and CMHC, INC. reserves, the right to restrict certain training to psychologists only.  The CMHC, Inc. training programs are integral to our mission, goals, and vision for our corporation’s future.

The training center at CMHC North Complex, 427 N. Cedar includes audio and visual equipped, comfortable seating, attractive furnishing and surroundings, and an auditorium seating over 100.  The facility has both online (Blackboard based) training courses for distance and 24 hour learning through internet assisted training.  In addition, didactic classes are held in 5 and 8 hour blocks on a scheduled basis.
